WebbShaochilong är känd från ett enda fossilt exemplar, beskrivet 2009, [ 1] bestående av näsben, främre delen från en överkäke ( Maxilla ), skalltak, kvadratben och bakre delen av kraniet. Därtill har man också hittat 6 svanskotor.
